SeaFair Continues at Art Greenwich September 15 – 19 with full schedule of Onboard Events

Newport, RI- August 2, 2011- SeaFair announced today that it will continue its 2011 schedule with Art Greenwich September 15 – 19.

SeaFair and its exhibitors were pleased with their initial Newport experience and plan to return to the historic community next summer as part of a broader series of one-week summer exhibitions throughout New England in 2012. Organizers expressed their appreciation to City of Newport officials who made possible this year's initial visit. Any ticket adjustments regarding later summer dates in Newport will be addressed at tickets@expoships.com.

Art Greenwich will offer a diverse schedule of special events as well as an Art Talk Series from industry leaders. Each Art Talk will be open to all attendees and included with admission to the Fair.

SeaFair will open to the public Friday, September 16th at 11am, after a Preview evening on September 15th. The Art Talk Series will begin Friday with Tim DuPont presenting "Global View of Design and Architecture" from 2pm-3pm. The internationally renowned interior designer, based in Miami, Cape Town and Dubai, will speak on the origins of his inspirations and how to incorporate life experiences and travels into individual interior design. Much of his inspiration comes from his extensive global travel seeking unique objects, materials and design.

Art Greenwich partner, Chamard Vineyards, will be hosting a tasting from 6:30-7:30pm on Friday evening, by separate ticket. Tickets for this event can be purchased on the Expoships website.

Saturday's events will begin with an Art Talk presentation, "From Monet to Pollock" from 2pm-3pm. David Setford, Executive Director of the Hyde Collection in New York, provides listeners with a curatorial perspective on how Impressionism and Realism in Paris inspired the movement of Abstract Expressionism in America. He will utilize selected pieces from within the assemblage of works on exhibit to highlight a varying element within the vast transformation from European Modernism and American Abstract Expressionism.

"Art on the Rocks" from 7pm-9pm on both Friday and Saturday evening will pair live music with scenic sunset views on the Sky Deck. Bar360 will unveil featured "art inspired cocktails" during the event.

Monday's Art Talk Series brings "If Jewels Could Talk: Jewels of the American Heiress" from 2pm-3pm. Antiques Roadshow jewelry expert, Joyce Jonas, will trace the American legacy of estate jewelry throughout the ages from the glamorous Gilded Age with "American Royalty", the Vanderbilt and Astor families, those who formally bought their way into English nobility, and even American possession of the highly coveted French Crown Jewels. Precious gems have been regarded as the ultimate status symbol, and in the 1960s, turned Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly into Hollywood Royalty and American heiresses, Mona Bismarck, Doris Duke, and Millicent Rogers into international renowned icons.

Art Greenwich will be docked at the Delamar Harbor at 500 Steamboat Road in Greenwich, CT. Easily accessible parking can be found next to the hotel. Fair hours will be Friday and Saturday, September 16th and 17th, from 11am to 9pm and Sunday and Monday, September 18th and 19th, from 11am to 7pm. Tickets are $15 for a one-day pass, $20 for a multi day pass or can be purchased in advance at a discounted pre-sale price on the Expoships website. Children under 10 are free.
