SeaFair served as the VIP Lounge and performers’ dressing rooms during the 2013 ULTRA music festival in Miami these past two weekends. With close to 330,000 people attending the festivities over two consecutive weekends, SeaFair acted as a sanctuary and luxurious escape for the stars of the line up and their VIP guests. On the heels of a highly successful Miami International Art Fair (MIA), International Fine Art Expositions is pleased to announce a series of MIA Encore shows aboard the $40 million exhibition megayacht, SeaFair, docked at Bayfront Park in the heart of Miami’s Downtown Arts & Entertainment District. The series will debut with an April edition the 4th – 7th and continue with a second installment May 2nd – 5th, 2013.
Each MIA Encore show will gather a carefully selected array of 28 international dealers presenting both established contemporary and emerging artists. Works will be composed of contemporary, cutting-edge art of all media including photography, painting, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, installation and video.
In addition to the bevy of contemporary art works onboard, the fair will feature an exciting schedule of events including “ArtAfterHours Cocktail Cruises” Friday and Saturday night from 10pm-12am and a “Art on the Bay” brunch cruise on Sunday from 11am – 1pm. All SeaFair cruise events are by separate ticket which can be purchased on the website. A highlight of the program will be “Appraisal Saturday.” Saturday, April 6th, from 10am-2pm Miller Gaffney from the PBS Series “Market Warriors” will be offering complimentary art appraisals. The event will be followed by a lecture “Contemporary Passions for Art,” presented by Ms. Gaffney from 3pm – 4pm. April MIA Encore will launch the inaugural Downtown Miami “First Friday” on April 5th from 6-10pm, in collaboration with the arts and culture community of Downtown Miami. This new
cultural initiative shines a light on the growing art market in Downtown Miami, bringing together non-profit arts organizations and local galleries for special exhibitions, artists open studios, tours, exclusive openings and artist performances. Admission to MIA Encore will be complimentary for the duration of First Friday hours from 6-10pm. Among the participating organizations are MDC Museum of Art, Dimensions Variable, Bas Fisher Invitational, TM Sisters, Turn-Based Press Studio, Artisan Lounge, Etra Fine Art/Wine Bar, Nina Torres Fine Art, Eleazar Delgado Studio, Giants in the City – Presented by IRREVERSIBLE, Ocean Bank Art Space, Sculpture in the Park at Bayfront, McCormick Place, MIA Encore –at SeaFair, and Art in Public Places.

FAIR HOURS AND INFORMATION:
MIA Encore will be located aboard SeaFair, docked next to the InterContinental Hotel at Bayfront Park, 100 Chopin Plaza, Miami, FL. Fair hours are Friday and Saturday, April 5th and 6th, 1 – 10PM, and Sunday, April 7th and 21st, 1 – 7PM. MIA Encore offers convenient valet parking and optional priority boarding. Tickets can be purchased at the door, $15 for a one-day ticket, $20 for a multi-day ticket and $30 for a Priority Boarding ticket. Advance ticketing is available on the fair website. As per United States Coast Guard regulations, all attendees are required to show a photo ID upon entry.
The Miami International Art Fair – MIA – returns to Downtown Miami at Bayfront Park, for its 4th edition on January 17th – 21st. Gathering an international collection of galleries from as far as Beijing, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Paris, London to New York, the fair will present a dynamic display of some of the 21st century’s most promising established and emerging artists.
Cutting edge artwork in a broad scope of focuses will be available to collectors to peruse, including painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, digital, electronic, performance art, works on paper, functional design and studio jewelry design.
Special exhibitions and “project rooms” will be highlighted, including:
- An interactive installation from French “light painter,” photographer Jadikan LP presented by Art Vitam (Paris + Miami).
- A special exhibition of light works from Stephen Knapp, presented by Setford & Bridges (Paris + New York); Stephen Knapp has an exhibition opening at the Lowe Art Museum on January 25th.
- Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery (Stamford) will introduce the internationally renowned and award winning furniture designer and artist Paco Camus of Madrid, Spain.
- Cuban born, Miami based artist Carlos Estevez will present a special exhibition of his works and a coinciding lecture, “Across the Universe” sharing his artistic practices and discussing the future of emerging 21st century art.
- A special exhibition of Miami’s most promising young artists, curated by the University of Miami Art Department
